perfect

She climbs the stairs
to her room
she's all alone and scared too.
She steps inside and closes the
door.
She locks it
for she figures
she should.
She turns out the lights
as the room slowly
goes black.
All light that was caught
is now espaping
through the cracks.
She takes out her knife
and her rope too,
opens her window
and looks at the view.
She's not scared of death
just sad to leave.
She doens't want anymore secrets
to control her and
destroy her.
She looks around but doesn't
cry.
She's all dried out and
unwilling to try.
She turns on that song,
the one that calls to her
day after day.
It blasts through her
speakers and vibrates
away.
It makes her shaking
seem normal and her
body goes numb.
She puts the knife
to her skin and
lets it run.
It soaks up her clothes
but it doesn't hurt.
Watching it run
as she carves one word.
She soon lets her rope
hang on a hook.
She is so close to dying and
finally will.
She climbs onto her bed,
puts the rope around her neck.
She looks around her room
at all the pretty colors.
She sees all the pictures
of her dogs,
grandma,
and her smiling with her friends,
her sister
and her life.
It all flashes before her.
She then cloes her eyes
and breathes her last breath.
She jumps off her bed
and feels a tug
around her neck.
Her neck breaks as
she hangs there.
The music still blasting,
the cars can still be heard
going by,
the pictures still stand
as the blood runs down.
The puddle forms
all around her bed.
Nothing really changed except for the scar now on her arm.
It's truly only one word
yet haunts her everyday.
The word Perfect.
It's nice and small yet
there's something special
so close to it...
a heart carved around it
so carefully placed. There it stays...
till someone comes home.
She wasn't perfect enough
nor had any love...
So she took the pain
and washed it away.
So, there it will stay
for all of history..
the one thing that haunted
her day after day..
"I'm not perfect enough." all she wanted was
someone to hear her
and say
"You're perfect enough for me."
