If I cry
I know you wont be a step away
to hold me in your arms.
Nor will you be there
to throw a joke out
and make me smile.
These tears come from you,
just another selfish man.
So here come the tears
and all the memories pouring out.
There are words on my lips,
the one saying
that never slips
"Why must this happen to me..."
It's like a Dane Cook show
and we're the stars
except then I remember
all the times we would act out
a Dane Cook scene.
Then all I'd do
is cry harder.
So here come the tears,
the first of so many
and the start of a new life
that isn't what I wanted
nor something I even saw.
You can't hold me in your arms
and say everything will be ok
'cause these tears are from you
and your selfish ways.
If I cry
I know you wont be there.
Now I must build up my strength all over
to not cry
everytime life gets hard.
After all you held them back
all these months
and now
here I am
alone
and weak
with nothing but
tears to fill my time
and silence...
If I cry
long enough
will you see my red eyes
and the pain that kills me inside?
Although your not there now
and your the reason I cry.
If I cry...
will you eventually return
to my side...
